Even in Pokémon GO, the Pokémon you caught may take you to a glimpse of the past; the first raid you participated in, your first Unown, the day you reached level 40. Some are even unrelated to an in-game achievement, but rather a personal experience, like the first time you saw your significant other while playing the game, the dinner to celebrate a successful Community Day, or the last raid you did with your recently deceased friend. Because of the game’s intention to forge bonds and form communities, it resulted in rich and impactful stories. You feel happy when you hear what it took for your friend to finally get that elusive rare Pokémon, and empathize with someone who, sadly, didn’t get an EX Raid Pass. It lifts you up because you know that you are not alone in those experiences. There are other players that show a new perspective on playing the game itself, and luckily, there is a way to learn about these stories.

Trainer Tales is a collection of unique perspectives of Pokémon GO Trainers from different walks of life; a celebration of the human condition. It is a personal platform for players to express their feelings and they have free range to tell their stories as raw and as mesmerizing as they can. These usually leads to intimate conversations, in which Trainer Tales aim to immortalize so that the story doesn’t die and become just memories or hearsay.
Of course, it’s not easy to tell stories that are all related to Pokémon GO, but Niantic designed the game with a social aspect. This in turn help create much more engaging experiences worth telling. One such story is about Clarissa.
Another endearing story is from Jack who writes:
Finally, if you love Shiny Pokémon, you’ll definitely relate with Crystal.
